For AI agents

Research your agent can call, and cite

Add one address to the AI app you already use and sign in once. Your agent can then check whether a source is who they say they are, brief a company, pull a full report, find companies with a filed reason to buy from you this month, and get someone's contact details. Every answer comes back with where it came from.

Who it is for

  • Sales agents

    Find who has a reason to buy this week, brief each company before the first touch, and get the right person's contact details, all in one run.

  • Research agents

    Short briefs and long reports on people, firms and publications, plus credential checks on anyone who claims a title, with a link behind every claim.

  • n8n builders

    Drop MentionFox into an AI Agent step so a workflow can research a lead, check a source or pull buyers on a schedule or a trigger.

  • Claude and Cursor users

    Ask in plain words in the chat you already have open: "who is this", "is she really a registered broker", "find me buyers for acme.com".

What your agent can call

These are the ten tools MentionFox offers today. Your agent reads each one's description, including what it costs, and picks the right one for the question.

  • Source Checksource_check

    You give it
    The pitch email, a name or a link from someone who claims to be a doctor, lawyer, broker, professor or company director.
    You get back
    One of four answers: verified, partly verified, could not verify, or contradicted by the record. Each claim says where it was confirmed, with a link, and a plain list shows what was not checked. It never calls anyone fake.
  • Short briefget_snapshot

    You give it
    Who the subject is and what kind: a company, founder, investor, executive, publication and more.
    You get back
    About a page: who they are, what the record shows, what stands out and what to be careful of, as text plus a link to a page you can share. Asking again for the same subject hands back the brief you already have.
  • Full reportget_full_report

    You give it
    The subject, and for a company its website.
    You get back
    A long report, section by section, ending with its sources. It is fixed as of the day it was made, so what you show someone later is what you bought.
  • Buyers Nowfind_buyers_now

    You give it
    The website of the business you sell for.
    You get back
    Up to 10 US companies with a filed reason to buy from you now (new funding, a new top executive, an IPO, a large new stake, layoffs, a crowdfunding raise), each with a link to the record, a why-now line and a note on why it fits what you sell. Never padded.
  • Contact detailsenrich_person

    You give it
    A name you can already put to the job, plus the employer if the name is common.
    You get back
    The person's current role, email address, phone number where there is one, and profile links. More than one match returns the candidates instead.
  • Dossierget_dossier

    You give it
    A person.
    You get back
    Everything on file in sections: what they have done, who they work with, how they are spoken about, what they have said in public and recent news.
  • Side-by-sidecompare_people

    You give it
    Two to five people you have already looked up, and what the comparison is for.
    You get back
    A table you can read down a column for one person or across a row to see how they differ.
  • Mention scanscan_for_mentions

    You give it
    A brand, product, topic or person.
    You get back
    Posts, comments, articles and videos from the last day that mention it, each with a link, whether it read positive or negative, and a flag on anyone who sounds ready to buy.
  • Sendable fileexport_report

    You give it
    A brief, report or dossier you already have.
    You get back
    A web page, a print-ready page to save as PDF, or plain text, with your own name, logo and colours on it.
  • Your historyget_my_recent_research

    You give it
    Nothing.
    You get back
    The people, companies and reports you have already looked up, yours only, so your agent checks before paying for something twice. Free.

What comes back: real examples

Quoted from results MentionFox actually returned. Nothing here was written for this page.

Buyers Now: one result

Asked on Oct 16, 2026 with the website of a company that sells investor relations software. The first of 10 companies it returned:

{
  "company": "Iambic Therapeutics, Inc.",
  "trigger_label": "IPO filing",
  "event_date": "2026-10-15",
  "why_now": "Priced its IPO (final prospectus) on Oct 15, 2026, ticker IAM",
  "fit": "Newly public; needs earnings and shareholder communications platform",
  "mf_page_url": "https://mentionfox.com/ipo/iambic-therapeutics"
}

Each result also carries a link to the record it came from. See our page on Iambic Therapeutics or try Buyers Now on your own website.

Short brief: OpenBCI

A company brief returned on Oct 5, 2026. Excerpts, in the brief's own words:

For someone deciding whether to do business with them. Checked 2026-10-05 against openbci.com.

Warning signs. No adverse findings were returned for OpenBCI, Inc. or for the named founders and executives. This is a statement about what was searched, not a clearance.

Who they are. OpenBCI, Inc. is a Brooklyn, New York company that designs and sells open-source biosensing hardware and software … primarily to researchers, developers, and institutions working in brain-computer interfacing and neuroscience.

The money. OpenBCI has filed four Form Ds … all offering Simple Agreements for Future Equity. The earliest on record, filed 2021-10-14, listed a total offering of $2,500,000 with $1,750,000 sold by the filing date and five investors already in.

Full report: Pfizer

A full company report written for someone about to sign a multi-year contract, built on 2026-09-28: 20 sections and 56 cited sources. Its short answer opens:

Pfizer Inc. will almost certainly still be here across a multi-year term, but the conditions under which it delivers are materially different from what they were three years ago, and several of those conditions require contractual protection before you commit.

Connect in two minutes

The address is the same everywhere: https://mentionfox.com/mcp. The first time you connect, a MentionFox sign-in page opens; approve it and you are connected. Apps that cannot open a sign-in page use a personal access key, which you make on your access key page.

Claude (website and desktop app)

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it MentionFox and paste https://mentionfox.com/mcp.
  4. Click Connect and sign in to MentionFox when asked.

In Claude Code, run this in a terminal, then type /mcp and choose Authenticate:

claude mcp add --transport http mentionfox https://mentionfox.com/mcp

Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects, or .cursor/mcp.json for one. Cursor asks you to sign in to MentionFox the first time a tool is used.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mentionfox": {
      "url": "https://mentionfox.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

With a personal access key instead, add a headers block with "Authorization": "Bearer your-key" next to the url.

n8n

  1. In your workflow, open the AI Agent node and add a tool: MCP Client Tool.
  2. Set Endpoint to https://mentionfox.com/mcp and Server Transport to HTTP Streamable.
  3. Set Authentication to Bearer Auth and make a new credential with your MentionFox personal access key as the token.
  4. Leave Tools to Include on All, or pick only the ones this workflow needs.

Any other MCP app

Add https://mentionfox.com/mcp as a remote server. If the app can open a sign-in page, sign in when asked. If not, send your personal access key as Authorization: Bearer your-key.

The full set-up guide, including ChatGPT, is in the developer guide.

What it costs

Calls spend credits from your MentionFox plan. A free account works. Every tool tells your agent what it costs before it runs, so it can check with you first, and nothing is charged when there is no match, when a name matches more than one person or company, or when you already have the result.

Questions

Do I need a paid plan to connect?

No. A free MentionFox account can connect and use the tools its plan includes. Some tools need a paid plan; the pricing page lists what each plan includes.

Will my agent spend credits without asking?

Every tool tells your agent what it costs before it runs, so the agent can check with you first. Nothing is charged when there is no match, when a name matches more than one person or company, or when you already have the result.

Can my agent see other people's research?

No. Everything your agent does is tied to your own MentionFox account, the same as using the dashboard, and your recent research list shows yours only.

Is there anything to install?

No. MentionFox runs at one address, https://mentionfox.com/mcp. You add that address to your app and sign in once.
