How it works
Start by creating a Telegram bot through BotFather or using an existing bot token. In MentionFox, navigate to your Integrations or Alerts settings and select Telegram as your delivery channel. Paste your bot token and select the target chat or channel where alerts should arrive. This one-time setup allows MentionFox to post messages directly to your Telegram workspace whenever new mentions match your configured keywords, topics, or filters across the 52+ monitored platforms.
Within MentionFox, define which conversations and mentions trigger Telegram notifications. You can filter by keyword, platform type (e.g., Reddit discussions, LinkedIn posts, news articles), sentiment, reach, or lead quality. Set alert frequency—real-time, hourly digest, or daily summary—so your team receives information at the cadence that works best. MentionFox's Social Listening module scans all 52+ platforms continuously, and only results matching your rules generate Telegram posts.
When a Telegram alert arrives, it includes the source mention, platform, author details, and a direct link to the original conversation. Your team can instantly review context, assess lead quality, or identify partnership opportunities without switching tools. For outreach, MentionFox's Outreach Automation module lets you preview and manually click to send personalized emails—MentionFox never auto-sends messages. All sends require explicit user approval, ensuring your team maintains full control and compliance.
What you can do
Sales Team Catching High-Intent Leads in Real Time
A B2B SaaS company uses MentionFox to monitor 52+ platforms for mentions of their product category and competitor names. When someone posts "looking for a better CRM alternative" on Reddit or HackerNews, MentionFox instantly posts the mention to a dedicated Telegram channel for the sales team. The sales rep sees the alert within seconds, reviews the user's profile, and uses MentionFox's Outreach Automation to compose and send a thoughtful response. Because MentionFox requires manual approval before every send, the rep can customize the message and ensure it fits the conversation tone. Result: faster deal cycles and higher response rates from genuinely interested prospects.
Investor Relations Team Tracking Fund Interest and Market Sentiment
A growth-stage startup configures MentionFox to monitor discussions about their industry, funding trends, and investor commentary across podcasts, Substack, LinkedIn, and news sites. Whenever an investor or analyst mentions their sector or raises relevant market insights, a Telegram alert reaches the IR team. The Investor Research module provides context on who is talking and their influence tier. The team captures these insights, watches for emerging fund interest, and can proactively outreach to relevant investors—always with manual preview and click-to-send approval. This workflow keeps the IR team ahead of market momentum without constant manual searching.
Content and Marketing Teams Identifying Trending Topics and Amplification Opportunities
A media or content brand uses MentionFox's Social Listening to track emerging conversations on TikTok, YouTube, Medium, and forums related to their niche. When a topic spikes—indicated by high conversation volume across platforms—MentionFox posts an alert to Telegram. The content team sees the trend, reviews related mentions, and quickly plans content or amplification strategy. MentionFox's Candidate Vetting module also helps identify authoritative voices discussing the topic, enabling the team to identify collaboration or feature opportunities. The team then uses Outreach Automation to pitch partnerships, always with manual send approval. Result: faster content iteration and stronger audience engagement through timely, data-driven topic selection.
How to connect
- Step 1: Create or Retrieve Your Telegram Bot Token. Open Telegram and search for @BotFather. Follow the conversation to create a new bot and receive a unique API token (e.g., "123456789:ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefgh"). Save this token securely. If you already have a bot, retrieve its token from BotFather. The token authenticates MentionFox to post messages on your behalf.
- Step 2: Identify Your Target Telegram Chat or Channel ID. Add your bot to the Telegram chat, group, or channel where you want MentionFox alerts to arrive. You may need to obtain the chat ID—a numeric identifier that tells MentionFox exactly where to send messages. Use a Telegram ID lookup tool or send a test message and check your bot's logs to confirm the correct chat ID. Note this ID for the next step.
- Step 3: Connect MentionFox to Telegram. Log into your MentionFox account and navigate to Settings > Integrations or Alerts. Select Telegram as your notification destination. Paste your bot token and enter the target chat ID. Test the connection by sending a sample alert—you should see a test message appear in your Telegram chat within seconds. Once confirmed, save the integration.
- Step 4: Set Up Monitoring Rules and Activate Alerts. Return to MentionFox and configure your monitoring keywords, topics, platforms, and filters. Define which conversations should trigger Telegram notifications—for example, brand mentions, competitor activity, industry keywords, or lead quality signals. Choose your alert frequency (real-time, hourly, or daily). Activate your rules and confirm that test alerts arrive in Telegram. Your team is now receiving MentionFox insights in real time, ready to act on opportunities across 52+ platforms.
Without MentionFox
Without MentionFox, teams must manually search Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora, HackerNews, forums, and dozens of other platforms daily to catch relevant conversations and leads. This is time-consuming, inconsistent, and prone to missed opportunities—by the time a sales rep manually finds a high-intent prospect, competitors may already be engaging. Centralized monitoring across 52+ platforms in one dashboard, with Telegram alerts for instant awareness, saves hours per week and ensures your team never misses a critical mention or lead.
