How it works
Set up listening rules in MentionFox for keywords, brands, competitors, or audience segments relevant to your business. MentionFox continuously scans conversations across social media, forums, news outlets, podcasts, and review platforms. When a mention matches your criteria, MentionFox detects it and prepares to alert your team.
Configure MentionFox to send matched mentions to your Slack channel through an incoming webhook. Each alert includes the mention text, source platform, author profile link, and timestamp. Your team sees the alert in real time without leaving Slack, reducing response latency for high-priority opportunities.
Use MentionFox's lead enrichment capabilities to gather additional context on mention authors—company, role, location, and engagement patterns. Preview and configure outreach directly in MentionFox, ensuring every outreach message is reviewed before sending. MentionFox never auto-sends emails; you control every message that goes out.
What you can do
Sales Team Catches In-Market Prospects
Your sales team creates a MentionFox listening rule for keywords like 'looking for a CRM' or 'evaluating [competitor name]' across Reddit, LinkedIn, Quora, and forums. When prospects post these keywords, MentionFox sends an alert to a dedicated Slack channel. Your team sees the conversation, enriches the prospect's profile, and crafts a personalized response—all from Slack—without losing the moment.
Investor Relations Monitors Analyst Activity
Your investor relations team monitors mentions of your company, executives, and industry trends across news sites, podcasts, Twitter, LinkedIn, and financial forums. MentionFox detects when analysts or investors mention your company or competitive moves, posting alerts to your private Slack channel. You stay informed of market perception in real time and can prepare responses or outreach promptly.
Recruitment Identifies Passive Candidates
Your recruiting team sets up listening rules for job titles, skills, and company names relevant to open roles. MentionFox monitors LinkedIn, Twitter, Reddit, HackerNews, and industry forums for relevant professionals discussing their work or career interests. Matches trigger Slack alerts, allowing your team to review profiles and initiate outreach conversations before candidates hit the job market.
How to connect
- Step 1: Create a Slack Incoming Webhook. In your Slack workspace, navigate to your app settings and create an incoming webhook for the channel where you want to receive MentionFox alerts. Slack will generate a unique webhook URL. Copy this URL—you'll paste it into MentionFox in the next step.
- Step 2: Configure the Webhook in MentionFox. Log into MentionFox and open your project settings. Locate the integrations or notification section and select the incoming webhook option. Paste your Slack webhook URL into the designated field. Test the connection to confirm MentionFox can reach your Slack channel.
- Step 3: Set Up Your Listening Rules. In MentionFox, create listening rules for the keywords, brands, competitor names, or audience segments you want to monitor. Specify which platforms to include (Reddit, LinkedIn, Quora, forums, news sites, etc.) and configure any filters by location, language, or engagement level. Enable webhook notifications for these rules.
- Step 4: Test and Refine. Trigger a test mention or wait for real matches to arrive in your Slack channel. Review the alert format and ensure all relevant details are included. Adjust your listening rules or webhook filters if needed. Once alerts feel actionable, train your team on how to respond—reviewing profiles in MentionFox, enriching leads, and previewing outreach before sending.
Without MentionFox
Without MentionFox, your team must manually monitor social media feeds, forums, and news sites separately, checking each platform daily for relevant mentions. Prospects and candidates slip through the cracks because conversations happen across dozens of platforms simultaneously, and response delays mean missed opportunities.
