How it works
Use MentionFox's Social Listening module to monitor conversations, questions, and mentions relevant to your industry across Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora, HackerNews, forums, news sites, podcasts, review platforms, and video platforms. Set up listening streams for keywords, competitors, pain points, or audience segments. MentionFox surfaces real conversations where potential customers are already engaged and discussing problems your product solves. The AI-Visibility (GEO) Measurement module also tracks mentions of specific AI models (AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants) across these platforms to help you understand AI adoption patterns and reach early adopters.
MentionFox's Lead Enrichment and Candidate Vetting modules add business intelligence to each prospect discovered. You get context about their company, industry, role signals from their public conversations, and engagement patterns. This enrichment helps you prioritize high-quality leads before adding them to Mailchimp. The Investor Research module can identify investors, founders, and decision-makers discussing relevant topics. You review each lead's profile and engagement history within MentionFox to ensure fit before the next step.
Once leads are added to your Mailchimp audience, use Mailchimp's email campaign builder to create and send personalized messages. MentionFox's Outreach Automation module helps you draft outreach, but every email requires your preview and click-to-send confirmation—MentionFox never auto-sends. Reference specific insights from the prospect's public conversations (their questions, pain points, or interests surfaced by MentionFox) to make each message relevant. This combination of intelligent discovery and intentional, personalized outreach increases response rates and builds genuine connections.
What you can do
B2B SaaS: Finding and Nurturing Product-Qualified Leads
A B2B SaaS company uses MentionFox to listen across Reddit, LinkedIn, and Quora for mentions of their product category and competitor names. When someone asks a question or shares a pain point that aligns with the product, MentionFox flags it. The team reviews the lead's enriched profile (company size, role, engagement history), confirms it's a qualified prospect, and adds them to a Mailchimp audience called 'Active Problem Solvers.' They then send a personalized campaign referencing the specific problem the prospect mentioned, with a clear value prop and demo link. Mailchimp tracks open rates and clicks, and the sales team follows up with high-engagement leads.
Investor Relations: Targeting Active Investors and Founders
A growth-stage startup uses MentionFox's Investor Research module to identify 52,000+ investors and founders discussing industry trends, technologies, and funding opportunities across platforms. MentionFox enriches each prospect with their firm, investment thesis, portfolio companies, and recent public activity. The startup's investor relations team adds the most relevant investors to a Mailchimp audience and launches a targeted campaign with company updates, press releases, or invitation-only events. Because these investors were already engaged in related conversations, the email relevance is high. Mailchimp's reporting shows which investor segments open emails and visit the company website, informing follow-up strategy.
Content Marketing: Building Engaged Audiences from Real Conversations
A content marketing team uses MentionFox to discover people actively discussing topics their blog covers (e.g., 'AI in healthcare,' 'remote work trends'). These conversations happen across X, LinkedIn, Medium, Substack, HackerNews, and YouTube. MentionFox identifies engaged participants and enriches them with role and company signals. The team adds these people to a Mailchimp audience segment called 'AI & Healthcare Interest' and sends a campaign sharing a newly published long-form guide. Because the email content directly addresses conversations these people were already having, open and click-through rates are significantly higher. Mailchimp's segmentation helps track which content topics resonate with which audience groups.
How to connect
- Step 1: Export or Flag Leads in MentionFox. After discovering and enriching leads in MentionFox's Social Listening, Investor Research, or Candidate Vetting modules, review each prospect's profile, company intelligence, and engagement context. If the lead is qualified, flag it or add it to a MentionFox list/collection. MentionFox stores lead details including name, email (if available), company, role signals, social profiles, and conversation context. You can export this data as a CSV or prepare it for API delivery to Mailchimp.
- Step 2: Connect MentionFox to Mailchimp via API. Use Mailchimp's API to create an automated connection between MentionFox and your Mailchimp account. Set up an API key in your Mailchimp account (under Account > Extras > API Keys), then configure MentionFox to send lead data (email address, first name, company, custom fields) to a specific Mailchimp audience. Many integration platforms (Zapier, Make, or direct REST API implementation) can facilitate this connection, allowing new MentionFox leads to be automatically added to your Mailchimp audience. Ensure your Mailchimp audience is set to accept new subscribers and that your custom field mappings align (e.g., company name, job title from MentionFox to Mailchimp custom fields).
- Step 3: Segment and Tag for Targeted Campaigns. Once leads are in Mailchimp, create segments based on attributes that MentionFox provided: company size, role signals, industry, the specific conversation or pain point that triggered their discovery, or platform they were found on (e.g., 'LinkedIn mentions,' 'Reddit discussions'). Mailchimp's segmentation tools let you send different messages to investors versus practitioners, or to leads who mentioned different pain points. This ensures every email is contextually relevant and improves engagement metrics.
- Step 4: Launch Personalized Campaigns with Mailchimp. Build email campaigns in Mailchimp using the enriched data and context from MentionFox. Reference specific insights: 'I saw your recent question about X on Y platform' or 'Your company is exploring Z—here's a resource.' Use Mailchimp's template editor to create professional, on-brand emails, and leverage dynamic content blocks to personalize by company, role, or discovery platform. Set up automation workflows to trigger follow-up emails based on initial engagement (opens, clicks, replies). Mailchimp's reporting dashboard shows open rates, click rates, unsubscribe rates, and other metrics that inform your next outreach iteration.
Without MentionFox
Without MentionFox, you must manually search social platforms, forums, and news sites for relevant conversations, manually identify prospects, and research company and role information yourself—a time-intensive process that often yields thin lead lists. You lose the opportunity to reach people already discussing problems your product solves, instead relying on purchased lists or inbound leads that may be less engaged.
