Use MentionFox with Gmail

MentionFox identifies high-potential leads and prospects across 52+ platforms—Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora, HackerNews, forums, news sites, podcasts, review platforms, TikTok, YouTube, Substack, Medium, and more—then lets you send personalized outreach directly from your Gmail inbox. Every email you send is previewed and manually approved by you before delivery, ensuring your voice stays authentic and compliant.

How it works

1
1. Listen and Research

Start by using MentionFox's Social Listening module to monitor conversations, questions, and mentions relevant to your industry, product, or target market. MentionFox scans across 52+ platforms in real time, capturing discussions where your ideal customers may already be engaged. You can set up listening campaigns by keywords, topics, or communities to surface the right conversations at scale.

2
2. Enrich and Validate Leads

When you spot a promising prospect in a conversation, MentionFox's lead enrichment tools help you gather context: their role, company, contact signals, and engagement history. The AI-Visibility module also measures how often prospects interact with AI-powered tools—useful for timing your outreach. You gain confidence that the person you're about to contact is genuinely relevant to your offer.

3
3. Compose and Send via Gmail

MentionFox's Outreach Automation module prepares personalized email templates based on the research you've done. When you're ready, you preview the complete email in MentionFox, then send it directly from your own Gmail inbox with a single click. MentionFox never auto-sends: every email requires your explicit approval before it leaves your account, keeping you in full control of your outreach voice and compliance.

What you can do

B2B SaaS Sales: Finding Active Decision-Makers

A SaaS sales team uses MentionFox to listen for CTOs and engineering leaders discussing pain points in technical forums and Reddit communities. When they spot a prospect asking about workflow automation, MentionFox enriches that lead with company, role, and prior engagement signals. The sales rep then composes a personalized email in MentionFox, previews it, and sends it from Gmail with a reference to the specific problem the prospect mentioned. This approach turns lurkers into conversations—not cold contacts.

Investor and VC Due Diligence

A venture fund uses MentionFox's Investor Research module to monitor 52,000+ investors and identify those actively discussing startups in your sector. Social Listening surfaces investor commentary on LinkedIn, X, podcasts, and news platforms. When a fund partner wants to reach out to a newly aligned investor, MentionFox provides full context—recent investments, public statements, engagement patterns—so the outreach email sent via Gmail is timely and relevant rather than generic cold email.

Candidate Sourcing and Recruitment

A recruiter uses MentionFox's Candidate Vetting module to find engineers discussing their interests, side projects, and career aspirations across GitHub discussions, DEV forums, HackerNews, and Twitter. MentionFox surfaces candidates who are actively engaged (versus passive lurkers), then enriches profiles with their expertise and community standing. When the recruiter spots a fit, they preview and send a personalized outreach email via Gmail—not a templated blast—resulting in higher response rates because the message addresses the candidate's actual interests.

How to connect

  1. Step 1: Connect Your Gmail Account to MentionFox. In your MentionFox settings, navigate to Integrations and select Gmail. Follow the secure OAuth prompt to authenticate your Gmail account. MentionFox requests permission to read your drafts and send mail on your behalf—this allows MentionFox to prepare email templates and hand them to you for final approval before sending. Your email credentials remain encrypted and are never stored in plaintext.
  2. Step 2: Set Up Your Outreach Profile. Configure your sender identity (name, email signature, reply-to address) and any outreach templates or tone preferences in MentionFox. This ensures that every email you send via Gmail reflects your personal brand. You can also set daily sending limits to maintain inbox health and deliverability reputation.
  3. Step 3: Create a Listening Campaign. Define keywords, platforms, and audience filters relevant to your business. For example, listen for 'workflow automation pain' across Reddit, Quora, and LinkedIn groups. MentionFox will continuously monitor these sources and alert you when new matches appear. Each mention is timestamped and linked back to the original source so you can verify context before reaching out.
  4. Step 4: Preview, Personalize, and Send. When you've identified a prospect in MentionFox, the platform prepares a draft email with personalization variables pre-filled (name, company, relevant context from the conversation). You review the full email text in MentionFox, make any final edits, then click 'Send via Gmail.' The email goes out from your Gmail inbox immediately, and a record is logged in MentionFox so you can track follow-ups and responses. This manual approval step ensures compliance and authenticity in every outreach.

Without MentionFox

Without MentionFox, teams typically rely on manual LinkedIn searches, purchased email lists, or generic outreach templates—all of which result in low response rates, high unsubscribe complaints, and missed opportunities to reach prospects at the moment they're actively discussing their pain points. Manually tracking mentions across 52+ platforms and enriching prospect data by hand is time-consuming and error-prone, forcing teams to guess who to contact and when.

Questions, answered

Does MentionFox auto-send emails on my behalf?

No. MentionFox never auto-sends outreach. Every email requires you to preview the full message inside MentionFox and click 'Send via Gmail' explicitly. This manual approval step keeps you in control of your outreach voice, compliance, and sender reputation.

Can I use MentionFox with Gmail, Outlook, or other email providers?

MentionFox integrates with Gmail to streamline outreach. The Gmail integration uses secure OAuth so you remain the account owner and can revoke access at any time. For other email providers, you can still preview and copy outreach templates from MentionFox and send them manually from your inbox.

How many outreach credits does each pricing tier include?

Free tier includes 10 credits per month. Pro ($99/month) includes 100 credits per month. Agency ($499/month) includes 1,000 credits per month with 5 seats. Enterprise ($2,999/month) includes 5,000 credits per month with unlimited seats. Monthly credits reset each month and do not roll over; only purchased credit packs roll over permanently. Credit packs are priced at $0.40 per credit: Starter 50 credits for $20, Growth 200 credits for $80, Best Value 500 credits for $200.

What happens if I run out of credits mid-month?

If your monthly credits are exhausted, you can purchase a credit pack (Starter, Growth, or Best Value) instantly. Credit packs roll over forever and persist across months, so you always have a buffer. Monthly credits reset on the calendar month regardless of remaining balance.

Is there a service level agreement (SLA) or guaranteed response time?

MentionFox does not offer SLAs. The platform is run by a solo founder operation and is in build-in-public phase. Priority support is available on paid tiers (Pro, Agency, Enterprise), but response time is best-effort, not guaranteed. For mission-critical use cases requiring guaranteed uptime or support SLAs, please discuss with the founder directly.
