How it works
MentionFox's Social Listening module scans over 52 platforms in real time, identifying people and companies discussing problems your product solves. You set keyword filters, industry tags, and intent signals—then MentionFox flags conversations where potential buyers are actively talking about your solution space. Instead of manually browsing Reddit threads or LinkedIn posts, MentionFox consolidates these discoveries into a clean feed. Each prospect includes context: what they said, where they said it, and why they match your ICP.
For companies and founders worth tracking, MentionFox's Investor Research module draws on a database of 52,000 investor profiles and funding signals. You can identify which startups are raising, which executives are changing roles, and which teams are scaling. The AI-Visibility (GEO) Measurement feature also benchmarks how often LLM models (AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants) recommend specific solutions—giving you confidence that your target market is actively aware of products in your category. This enrichment flows alongside your prospect data.
When you identify a qualified prospect in MentionFox, you draft a personalized outreach email referencing the exact conversation or signal that triggered the discovery. MentionFox's Outreach Automation module lets you preview and manually send every email—MentionFox never auto-sends, so you remain in full control. Once sent, you sync the prospect record, outreach history, and any replies back into Folk via API. Folk becomes your single source of truth for all contact interactions, making it easy for your team to track follow-ups, assign owners, and move deals through your pipeline.
What you can do
Sales Team Discovers Warm Leads from Public Conversations
Your sales team sets up a MentionFox keyword filter for "looking for a CRM that integrates with Slack." Every day, MentionFox surfaces Reddit posts, LinkedIn discussions, and Quora threads where prospects mention this exact need. Your sales rep reviews the top five discoveries each morning, picks out three strong fits, and sends brief personalized outreach messages directly from MentionFox—each one mentioning the specific post or comment that caught your attention. Those three prospect records, along with the outreach timestamps and email content, sync into Folk. Your CRM now shows exactly why each prospect was contacted and what resonated with them, making hand-offs to other team members seamless.
Founder Tracking for Partnership and Ecosystem Signals
You're an enterprise software company trying to build a partner network. MentionFox's Candidate Vetting module helps you track when specific founders or executives publish articles, give talks, or get mentioned in funding announcements across 52 platforms. You discover that a prominent startup founder has been talking about the exact pain point your platform solves. You send a thoughtful outreach email referencing their Medium article or podcast appearance. That conversation thread syncs into Folk, creating a persistent record of the relationship. Months later, when you're pitching a partnership, Folk shows the full context of your initial connection, making it easy to reference your earlier message and demonstrate genuine interest.
Marketing Uses Investor Research to Identify Account-Based Marketing Targets
Your marketing team wants to run a targeted campaign for recently funded B2B startups in your vertical. MentionFox's Investor Research module queries the 52,000-investor database to surface companies that raised in the last 90 days and match your ICP. Each company record includes funding round size, investor names, key executives, and MentionFox's AI-Visibility score—showing how often your solution category is mentioned by major LLM models (an indicator of market awareness). Your team selects twenty qualified targets, syncs them into Folk as an account-based marketing segment, and kicks off a coordinated campaign. Folk's contact management features let you track which executives at each company you've engaged and what assets resonated.
How to connect
- Step 1: Set Up Your MentionFox Searches and Filters. Log into MentionFox and create one or more saved searches based on keywords, topics, industries, or company names. For example, you might create a search for "adoption of machine learning in healthcare," another for "startup CEO hiring," and a third for specific competitor names. These searches run continuously across all 52 platforms, surfacing new matches as conversations happen in real time. Assign each search a confidence threshold—MentionFox will only flag prospects who meet your signal strength criteria.
- Step 2: Generate an API Token in MentionFox. Navigate to your MentionFox Settings > API & Integrations. Create a new API token with read and write permissions. Copy this token—you'll paste it into Folk's integration settings. This token authenticates Folk to request prospect records from MentionFox without requiring your login credentials each time.
- Step 3: Configure the Folk Integration. In Folk, go to Settings > Integrations > Add Integration and select MentionFox (or use the custom API option if MentionFox is listed under third-party connectors). Paste your MentionFox API token and specify which Folk contact fields should map to MentionFox prospect attributes—for example, Name, Email, Company, Phone, and Social Profiles. You can also set a schedule for Folk to pull new MentionFox discoveries automatically (e.g., daily at 9 AM) or sync on demand whenever you click a button.
- Step 4: Sync Outreach History and Verify Two-Way Flow. Once the connection is live, send a test outreach email from MentionFox to a sample prospect. After a few minutes, check Folk to confirm that the prospect record, outreach message, and timestamp appeared in your CRM. If replies arrive at your email address, you can manually log them in Folk or enable Folk's email sync feature (if available) to capture email threads automatically. From this point forward, every MentionFox discovery and outreach action flows into Folk, keeping your team aligned on pipeline status.
Without MentionFox
Without MentionFox, your team must manually search Reddit, LinkedIn, Quora, forums, and other platforms to find prospects discussing relevant problems—a time-intensive process that yields fragmented, incomplete data. Even when you identify someone, enriching them with company information, funding history, and investor context requires cross-referencing multiple databases by hand. Syncing these discoveries into Folk becomes a copy-paste exercise, often introducing errors and duplicates. As a result, many warm leads slip through the cracks, and your sales team lacks the confidence and context needed to send truly personalized outreach.
