How it works
Start by configuring your MentionFox social listening workspace to monitor keywords, brand names, competitor activity, or industry trends across the 52+ platforms. Define the mentions and conversations you want to track—for example, your company name, product launches, industry news, or specific competitor brands. MentionFox continuously scans these sources and identifies relevant conversations in real time.
Generate a webhook URL from your Discord server and connect it to MentionFox. Once linked, you can route alerts from your social listening queries, AI-visibility measurement insights, investor research findings, or candidate vetting results directly to a dedicated Discord channel. Every alert that matches your criteria will automatically post to the channel you designate, keeping your team informed without manual updates.
Your team monitors the Discord channel for incoming MentionFox alerts. When a mention appears—whether it's a prospect discussing your solution, an investor asking about competitors, or breaking news in your industry—the alert surfaces immediately. Team members can click through to the original conversation, review context, and decide next steps such as engaging with the mention, launching an outreach campaign, or updating strategy.
What you can do
Sales Team Identifies Warm Leads from Social Conversations
A prospect mentions your company on Reddit asking whether your solution handles a specific use case. MentionFox catches the mention and posts it to your #sales-leads Discord channel. Your sales team sees the alert in real time, reviews the conversation context, and uses MentionFox's Outreach Automation to send a personalized response. The lead feels heard because the response arrives quickly and addresses their exact concern.
Marketing Tracks Competitive Mentions and Industry Shifts
Your marketing team configures MentionFox to monitor competitor brand names and industry keywords across forums, LinkedIn, and news sites. When a significant number of mentions appear around a competitor's product launch or when industry sentiment shifts, MentionFox posts alerts to your #marketing-intel Discord channel. Your team can adjust messaging, identify content gaps, and respond to market changes faster than competitors who rely on manual monitoring.
Investor Relations Monitors Funding Discussions and Founder Activity
Your investor relations team uses MentionFox's Investor Research module to monitor discussions about your startup, sector trends, and potential investors across platforms including HackerNews, Twitter, and specialized forums. Key mentions—such as a top-tier investor praising your market or sector news breaking—automatically post to your #investor-updates Discord channel. Your team stays aligned on investor sentiment and can respond to opportunities immediately.
How to connect
- Step 1: Create a Discord Webhook URL. In Discord, navigate to your server settings and select the channel where you want MentionFox alerts to appear. Click on integrations, then webhooks, and create a new webhook. Copy the webhook URL—this is the connection point between MentionFox and Discord.
- Step 2: Add the Webhook to MentionFox. In your MentionFox account, go to settings and find the integrations or notifications section. Paste your Discord webhook URL into the designated field. Test the connection by sending a sample alert. Once confirmed, MentionFox is ready to post to your Discord channel.
- Step 3: Configure Alert Rules and Filters. In MentionFox, define which alerts should be routed to Discord. You can filter by query (e.g., your brand name), mention type (positive, negative, neutral), platform, date range, or engagement level. This ensures your team only sees high-value alerts and avoids alert fatigue.
- Step 4: Monitor and Refine. Once alerts begin flowing to Discord, your team can review accuracy and relevance. Adjust your filters and queries as needed to fine-tune signal-to-noise ratio. MentionFox's built-in analytics help you understand which alert types drive the most team action.
Without MentionFox
Without MentionFox, teams manually search social platforms, forums, and news sites multiple times per day to find relevant conversations and mentions. Team members copy-paste findings into Slack or email, leading to delays, duplicated effort, and missed opportunities. Important mentions—like a prospect asking about your product or an investor discussing your sector—can go unnoticed for days or weeks, allowing competitors to respond first.
