MentionFox + Coda

Use MentionFox with Coda

MentionFox is a B2B intelligence suite that monitors conversations across 52+ platforms—including Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora, HackerNews, forums, news sites, podcasts, review platforms, TikTok, YouTube, Substack, and Medium—to surface leads, validate investment opportunities, and automate outreach. Coda is a document and workspace platform that lets you organize, collaborate on, and automate workflows around structured data. By connecting MentionFox to a Coda table via API, you can centralize your B2B research findings, lead enrichment results, and outreach records in one collaborative space.

How it works

1
Social Listening and Lead Discovery

Run a social listening search in MentionFox across its 52+ platform network to find mentions of your target keywords, competitors, or industry topics. MentionFox extracts conversation context, speaker profile data, and engagement signals. Use the API connection to sync matching conversations and identified leads directly into a Coda table. Your team can then review, score, and tag prospects in Coda without manually copying data between tools.

2
Investor Research and Due Diligence

MentionFox's Investor Research module accesses a database of 52,000 investors. Search by stage, sector, check size, or geography to identify funding targets. Export investor profiles, recent activity, and recommendation data via API to a Coda table. Collaborate with co-founders or board members to annotate profiles, track outreach status, and maintain a single source of truth for your fundraising pipeline.

3
Outreach Automation with Manual Control

MentionFox identifies qualified prospects through social listening and enrichment, then prepares outreach templates. Before any email is sent, you review the message in MentionFox and manually click to send—MentionFox never auto-sends. Log each outreach event (recipient, date, message variant) to a Coda table via API. This creates an auditable record of all B2B outreach, making it easy to track response rates, follow-ups, and pipeline progression.

What you can do

B2B SaaS Company Building a Sales Pipeline

A B2B SaaS startup uses MentionFox to monitor discussions on Reddit, Hacker News, and LinkedIn where their target buyers discuss pain points. MentionFox identifies high-intent conversations and enriches speaker profiles. Every matching lead syncs to a Coda table where the sales team qualifies, scores, and assigns accounts. The same Coda doc tracks outreach templates, email send dates, and replies—creating a unified pipeline view that sales and marketing can update in real time.

Venture Capital Firm Screening Deal Flow

A VC firm runs MentionFox's Investor Research module and social listening to monitor emerging founders, portfolio company competitors, and industry trends across 52,000+ investor records and public conversations. Results sync to a Coda workspace where partners annotate companies, flag signals (funding rounds, team changes, product launches), and collaborate on investment theses. Coda's comment and approval workflows help the team align on prospect quality before outreach.

HR and Recruiting Team Vetting Candidates

A recruiting team uses MentionFox's Candidate Vetting module to research job applicants across social platforms and public profiles. MentionFox surfaces online activity, publications, and professional reputation signals. The API sends candidate profiles to a Coda table where recruiters document interview feedback, reference checks, and decision notes. This keeps hiring decisions organized and auditable in one place.

How to connect

  1. Step 1: Set up Your Coda Workspace and Table. Create or open a Coda workspace and add a new table to hold MentionFox data. Define columns for the fields you want to sync—for example, Prospect Name, Company, Email, Platform, Conversation URL, Lead Score, Outreach Status, and Notes. Coda's flexible column types (text, email, URL, select, date) let you structure data to match your workflow. Share the Coda doc with your team so they can collaborate on prospect evaluation and next steps.
  2. Step 2: Generate a Coda API Token. In Coda, go to Account Settings, then API settings. Create a new API token with the permissions needed to write to your table. Copy the token and store it securely. You will also need your Coda document ID and table ID, which you can find in the Coda URL or by inspecting the doc structure in the API explorer. Keep these credentials ready for the next step.
  3. Step 3: Configure the MentionFox API Connection. In your MentionFox account, navigate to Integrations or API settings. Enter your Coda API token, document ID, and table ID. Select which MentionFox modules you want to sync—Social Listening results, Investor Research profiles, or Outreach records. Test the connection by running a small search in MentionFox and confirming that results appear in your Coda table within seconds. Once confirmed, you can set the sync to run automatically after each search or outreach action.
  4. Step 4: Review and Collaborate in Coda. After data syncs to your Coda table, your team can review entries, add comments, change the Outreach Status to 'Ready,' 'In Progress,' or 'Completed,' and maintain shared notes. Any team member can filter or sort the table to find prospects by score, platform, or stage. When you are ready to send outreach, copy the prospect email and message template from Coda, paste it into MentionFox, review the message, and click the send button—MentionFox requires manual confirmation before every email is dispatched. Log the send confirmation back to Coda to keep your pipeline record current.

Without MentionFox

Without MentionFox, teams spend hours manually searching across dozens of platforms, copying prospect data into spreadsheets, fact-checking company information, and losing track of outreach status across email and CRM. Coda alone gives you document storage but no way to discover or enrich B2B leads at scale across 52+ platforms. Combining Coda's collaboration tools with MentionFox's social listening, investor database, and AI visibility research lets you automate lead discovery and keep all findings synchronized in one shared workspace.

Questions, answered

Is there an official MentionFox and Coda integration or partnership?

MentionFox and Coda are separate products. You can connect them via MentionFox's API and Coda's API to sync data between the two platforms. This integration is not an official co-branded partnership; rather, it is a technical workflow you can set up yourself using API tokens and standard API calls.

Does MentionFox automatically send emails on my behalf?

No. MentionFox never auto-sends outreach. Every email requires you to preview the message in MentionFox and manually click a send button. This gives you full control and ensures compliance with your outreach policies. After sending, you can log the confirmation to your Coda table to maintain an audit trail.

How many platforms does MentionFox monitor?

MentionFox listens across 52+ platforms, including Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora, HackerNews, forums, news sites, podcasts, review platforms, TikTok, YouTube, Substack, and Medium. This breadth means you can surface conversations happening in niche communities and mainstream channels without running separate searches in each.

What credit system does MentionFox use?

MentionFox offers monthly plan credits that reset each month and do not roll over, plus optional purchased credit packs that roll over forever. The Free tier includes 10 monthly credits. Pro ($99/month) includes 100 monthly credits. Agency ($499/month) includes 1,000 monthly credits and 5 seats. Enterprise ($2,999/month) includes 5,000 monthly credits and unlimited seats. You can also purchase standalone credit packs: 50 credits for $20, 200 credits for $80, or 500 credits for $200 (all at $0.40 per credit).

Can I use MentionFox to research investors or candidates?

Yes. MentionFox includes an Investor Research module with access to 52,000+ investor profiles, allowing you to search by stage, sector, check size, and geography. It also has a Candidate Vetting module that surfaces online activity and professional signals for job applicants. Both modules can feed data into Coda so your team can annotate, score, and track outcomes in a single doc.
