How it works
Use MentionFox's Social Listening module to monitor conversations, job changes, funding announcements, and buying signals across Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora, HackerNews, forums, news sites, podcasts, review platforms, TikTok, YouTube, Substack, Medium, and more. Set up queries for your ICP keywords, competitor mentions, pain-point discussions, or investor activity. MentionFox captures raw mentions, timestamps, and context so you spot prospects before traditional lead lists catch them.
Export or compile prospect names, company signals, and intent indicators from MentionFox into a structured list. You can use the AI-Visibility module to see which prospects are actively researching solutions (measured across AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants, AI assistants, and AI assistants), the Investor Research module to track funding rounds and decision-makers, or the Candidate Vetting module to identify hiring activity. Each prospect record includes platform source, conversation date, and relevance score.
Import your MentionFox prospect list into Apollo. Apollo will match names and companies against its own database to append contact details, email addresses, phone numbers, job titles, reporting lines, and firmographic data. Once enriched, use Apollo's outreach features to send personalized emails, log sequences, and track opens and replies. MentionFox provided the intent signal; Apollo provides the contact layer and delivery infrastructure.
What you can do
Inbound Signal → Warm Outreach Pipeline
You notice a thread on Reddit where a VP of Sales at a mid-market SaaS complains about slow sales cycle data. MentionFox flags this mention. You export the company name and context, import into Apollo, enrich the VP's contact info, and send a personalized note referencing the exact pain point. Apollo logs opens and replies; you follow up in Apollo's sequence builder with a relevant asset or intro. Result: faster response rate than cold list prospecting because your opener is grounded in real intent.
Investor Intelligence → LP/Portfolio Outreach
MentionFox's Investor Research module tracks funding announcements and investor activity. You identify a Series A round announced by a fintech startup and spot the lead VC partner in a podcast interview. Export the investor and portfolio company list, sync to Apollo for contact details and org structure, and build a warm intro sequence. You reach out to the VC first, then follow with the founder. Apollo's CRM tracking ensures no prospect falls through the cracks.
Competitor Mention → Account-Based Marketing
MentionFox detects mentions of your competitor across forums, LinkedIn, and review sites at 10 companies in your target market. You export the account list, import to Apollo, enrich with decision-maker contact details, and launch a coordinated ABM campaign highlighting differentiation. Apollo tracks email engagement and alerts your sales team to meeting requests. MentionFox gave you the list; Apollo gave you the delivery and engagement data.
How to connect
- Step 1: Set Up Listening Queries in MentionFox. Define search terms, keywords, and filters in MentionFox's Social Listening module. Examples: company names, product categories, pain-point phrases, job titles, or funding keywords. Configure notification frequency (daily, weekly, real-time) so you don't miss high-intent signals. Save your queries and set up exports to CSV or API so you can pull results on demand or on schedule.
- Step 2: Validate and Compile Your List. Review MentionFox mentions and manually or automatically filter for relevance, company size, geography, or other ICP criteria. Use the AI-Visibility module to cross-check if prospects are actively researching solutions. Use Investor Research to confirm funding status and stakeholder credibility. Export a clean list of prospect names, company names, roles (if mentioned), and source URLs. This becomes your import file for Apollo.
- Step 3: Import to Apollo and Enrich. Upload your MentionFox list into Apollo via CSV, API, or direct URL paste. Apollo will run matching and append email addresses, phone numbers, job titles, direct reports, company size, industry, and technographic data. Review enrichment quality and flag any missing or duplicate records. Apollo's append rates vary by record quality; MentionFox-sourced intent signals often enrich well because they come from named discussions.
- Step 4: Launch Outreach and Track Results. Compose your first email in Apollo, referencing the specific signal or mention MentionFox found. Use Apollo's email sequences, templates, and tracking to log opens, clicks, and replies. Set up LinkedIn outreach or phone follow-up steps in Apollo's workflow builder. Monitor response rates and engagement by source (e.g., 'Reddit mention vs. HackerNews mention') to refine your listening queries in MentionFox. Loop insights back to sharpen your ICP and queries.
Without MentionFox
Without MentionFox, you rely on Apollo's built-in lead sources, which are typically broad, batch-style database matches. You miss real-time intent signals buried in forums, podcasts, and social conversations. You pay for lists of contacts that may not be actively considering a solution, resulting in lower response rates and longer sales cycles. Manual monitoring of 52+ platforms for competitor and pain-point mentions is infeasible for most teams.
