How it works
Use MentionFox's Social Listening module to monitor Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora, HackerNews, forums, news sites, podcasts, review platforms, TikTok, YouTube, Substack, Medium, and 39 other platforms for mentions of your target keywords, competitors, or industry discussions. When relevant mentions are found, export or sync the lead data (name, handle, source platform, context) to an Airtable base. This creates a live inbound lead stream that your sales team can immediately review, qualify, and prioritize without manual copy-paste work.
MentionFox's lead enrichment and Candidate Vetting modules return verified contact details, company information, and behavioral signals. Sync these enriched records into Airtable fields such as email, company, title, and engagement score. Your team can then layer additional research, set up follow-up reminders, or trigger outreach sequences without re-entering data across multiple tools.
MentionFox's Investor Research module queries a database of 52,000 investors. Results—including fund stage, sector focus, and contact information—can be synced to Airtable. Once a base is populated, you can use Airtable's views and filters to segment investors by criteria, track outreach status (via formula fields or select fields), and coordinate team outreach. MentionFox's Outreach Automation module allows you to preview and send emails; every email requires user preview and click-to-send—no auto-send—so you maintain full control and accountability.
What you can do
B2B SaaS Founder Capturing Inbound Intent
A SaaS founder uses MentionFox to monitor 52+ platforms for mentions of 'project management' and competitor names. When prospects post or comment, MentionFox surfaces the mention and enriches it with contact details. The founder syncs these leads to Airtable, where each lead appears as a new row. The founder can quickly scan context, assess fit, and trigger a personalized outreach email—sent via MentionFox after preview—directly to engaged, high-intent prospects. All outreach history and replies land back in Airtable for team visibility.
Venture Capital Firm Scaling Due Diligence
A VC fund uses MentionFox's Investor Research module to query the 52,000-investor database for emerging fintech founders. Results—fund profiles, stage focus, recent activity—are synced to Airtable. The fund's associates use Airtable views to filter by geography, check off completed calls, and add internal notes. When a founder is ready for outreach, the team uses MentionFox's Outreach Automation (with required user preview and click-to-send) to send a warm introduction, then updates the Airtable record with send date and status for accountability.
Marketing Agency Tracking Client Mentions & Reputation
A marketing agency uses MentionFox's Social Listening to monitor mentions of each client across Reddit, news sites, review platforms, and social media. When a mention appears, it is synced to an Airtable base organized by client name. The agency's team can view all mentions in real time, flag positive vs. neutral vs. negative sentiment, assign follow-up actions, and generate monthly reports directly from Airtable. This centralized view helps the agency demonstrate ROI and spot reputation issues before they escalate.
How to connect
- Step 1: Create or Open Your Airtable Base. Log into Airtable and create a new base (or open an existing one) where you want to store MentionFox leads and research. Design a table schema with fields for the data you plan to sync: for example, Name, Email, Company, Source Platform, Mention Context, Enrichment Status, and Outreach Status. You can use Airtable's native field types (text, email, select, formula, etc.) to organize and filter your data.
- Step 2: Retrieve Your Airtable API Credentials. In Airtable, navigate to your account settings and generate or retrieve an API token. Copy your base ID and table ID from the URL or API documentation. Keep these credentials secure; you will need them to authenticate the connection from MentionFox to Airtable.
- Step 3: Configure the Airtable Integration in MentionFox. In MentionFox, locate the integrations or API settings section. Enter your Airtable API token, base ID, and table ID. Test the connection to verify that MentionFox can write to your Airtable base. Once confirmed, configure the sync behavior: specify which MentionFox data fields (name, email, company, source platform, mention text, etc.) map to which Airtable columns. You can usually set this sync to occur automatically when new leads are discovered or on a scheduled interval.
- Step 4: Set Sync Rules and Manage Workflows. Define any filters or rules for what data MentionFox syncs to Airtable. For example, you might only sync leads from specific platforms (LinkedIn, Reddit, Quora), with minimum engagement scores, or matching certain keywords. Once syncing is active, monitor the first batch of records to ensure data quality and field alignment. From there, your team can use Airtable's views, filters, and automations to manage follow-up, assign tasks, track outreach status (all emails sent via MentionFox require user preview and click-to-send), and report on results.
Without MentionFox
Without MentionFox, you would manually search 52+ platforms for relevant leads, copy contact details by hand, and paste them into Airtable row by row—a time-consuming, error-prone process. You would also lose context around where each lead came from and why they matter, and you'd have no automated way to enrich contact data, vet candidates, or preview and track outreach across platforms.
