Data Deletion

Delete It Yourself

Signed in, open Settings from your account menu, scroll down to Danger Zone, and choose Delete Account. Type DELETE to confirm. Deletion happens straight away and you see a receipt number on screen.

If you own a team with other members, remove them first. If you have an active paid subscription, cancel it first. Deletion does not start until both are clear, so nothing is half deleted.

How to Request Deletion

You may also request complete deletion of your MentionFox account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@mentionfox.com from the email address associated with your account.

Please use the subject line "Account Deletion Request" so we can process your request promptly.

What Gets Deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

• Account profile — name, email, password, avatar, preferences, and all settings.
• Clients and brands — all client and brand configurations, keywords, and monitoring settings.
• Scan results — all scans, mentions, and scan history.
• Leads and contacts — all saved leads, person profiles, saved contacts, enrichment data, and dossiers.
• Outreach data — all campaigns, sequences, email content, and delivery records.
• Comparison reports — all Fox Compare and claim verification data.
• GEO data — all GEO sites and AI citation data.
• Files and uploads — any files you uploaded to MentionFox.
• Connected accounts — connected mailboxes, calendars and social accounts. Gmail access you granted is withdrawn.
• Sign-in access — every signed-in session and access key on your account.
• Foxy questions — the questions you asked Foxy inside MentionFox.

What May Be Retained

• Anonymized, aggregated analytics — data that has been anonymized and cannot be linked back to you (page view counts, feature usage statistics) may be retained for product improvement.
• Legal obligations — a record of each credit pack purchase, with your name and email removed, is kept as tax and financial regulations require, typically for up to 7 years.
• Opt-out requests — if you asked not to be emailed by a MentionFox user, that request is kept so it keeps being honored.
• Backup retention — encrypted backups are automatically purged on a rolling 30-day schedule. Your data will be removed from all backups within 30 days of deletion.

Timeline

• Deleting it yourself in Settings: immediate, with a receipt number on screen.
• Acknowledgment of an emailed request: within 2 business days of receiving your request.
• Identity verification: we will verify that the request comes from the account holder.
• Deletion completion: within 30 days of verified request. You will receive email confirmation when deletion is complete.
• Backup purge: within 30 days after primary deletion.

Before You Delete

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Before requesting deletion, you may want to:

• Export your data — download scan results, lead lists, and reports from your dashboard.
• Cancel your subscription — deletion does not go ahead while a paid subscription is active, so cancel it first.
• Remove your team members — if you own a team with other members, remove them first.
• Download comparison reports — save any Fox Compare or dossier reports you need.
