What this is, plainly
There is no free press tier. Verified journalists buy a discounted pack of credits. The payment is small on purpose — it is not how this pays for itself, it is what stops the offer being taken by people who will never use it.
If you cite a check, Source: MentionFox with a link to the site is all we ask. It is not a condition of anything and we cannot audit it — every report just carries a copy-ready line so it takes one click. The citation guidelines say how to word it.
Who qualifies
All five, checked automatically when you apply:
- You are on staff at, or a regular contributor to, a named news outlet. Freelancers without a current outlet affiliation do not qualify.
- You apply from your work email address at that outlet — not a personal address.
- The outlet is a newsroom: it publishes journalism, rather than publishing about itself.
- You link two of your own recent bylines at that outlet, published within the last two years, each carrying your name.
- Your role is a working editorial one. The exclusions below are absolute.
Who does not, named
Not a judgement about the work. Each of these has a commercial research budget, and this rate exists for people who do not.

Social-media verification carries no weight here. A blue tick is bought and a bio is typed. Bylines at the outlet are what we check.
