How MentionFox checks a company
Every finding on a MentionFox page is a fact on the public record, with a link to the document it comes from. This page says what we read, how we word it, and what we do when we get something wrong.
What we read
- Court dockets, and the orders and opinions filed in them.
- Filings companies make with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Decisions and releases published by regulators and by industry self-regulatory bodies.
- The company's own announcements.
- Reporting by named publications, credited and linked.
How a finding is written
- The headline is a fact with a date or a number. It is not a judgment.
- What a complaint says is called an allegation until a court decides it.
- We read the document itself, not someone's account of it.
- Before a court ruling is described, we look for what happened to it afterwards: an appeal, a reversal, a settlement.
- A case is counted against a company only when something besides the name ties it to that company.
- We do not use words about intent. We say what the record says.
What a finding is not
A lawsuit being filed is not a finding against the company. A difference between what a company announces and what it files is not a finding of wrongdoing. Where a company has answered us, its answer is on the page.
If you are the company
Write to saul@mentionfox.com with the document that shows what is wrong. We correct errors of fact on the day we confirm them and record the change below. A response from the company is added to the page as written.

You may quote any MentionFox page. Please credit MentionFox and link the page you used. Every source link goes to the original document, so you can check it without us.
Corrections
- 4 October 2026. Battle Motors: the page first described a Delaware court judgment without the Delaware Supreme Court's decision of 29 June 2026, which reversed part of it and sent the case back. The page was corrected the same day and now states the reversal.
