Taking Action on Mentions

Finding mentions is only half the job. The real value comes from what you do next. MentionFox gives you several ways to act on each mention without leaving the dashboard.

Open the Original Conversation

Click the source link on any mention card to open the original post or thread in a new tab. This is the fastest way to jump into a conversation and reply directly on the platform where it is happening.

Convert to a Lead

When a mention reveals a potential buyer, click the "Add to Dealflow" button. MentionFox will:

  1. Create a lead record in your Dealflow pipeline.
  2. Pre-fill it with the author's username, platform, the mention text, and a link to the original post.
  3. Run a quick enrichment to find the person's name, company, and public profile links if available.

From Dealflow you can then enrich the contact further, build a dossier, and launch an outreach sequence.

Enrich the Author

Click the person icon on a mention to run People Finder on the author. MentionFox will attempt to resolve their real name, email, company, LinkedIn, and other public profiles from their username and platform. This works especially well for Reddit, Twitter, and forum users who reuse the same handle across sites.

Add to a Client Report

Agency users can flag a mention for inclusion in a client report. Click the report icon and select which client report to attach it to. When you generate the report, flagged mentions appear in a dedicated "Key Mentions" section with sentiment tags and your notes.

Dismiss or Archive

Not every mention is worth acting on. Click dismiss to remove a mention from your active feed. Dismissed mentions are not deleted -- they move to the archive and still count in your analytics. You can always restore them later.

Tip: Build a daily habit of spending 10 minutes triaging your mention feed. Convert high-intent mentions to leads, flag interesting ones for reports, and dismiss the rest. Consistency beats volume.
