Reddit Lead Mining Playbook

Reddit is one of the richest sources for finding people actively discussing products, asking for recommendations, and complaining about competitors. This playbook shows you the complete workflow from scan to closed deal.

What this playbook does

Teaches you how to find qualified leads on Reddit by scanning subreddits for buyer-intent discussions, using Foxtrails to extract every participant from high-reply threads, enriching the most promising leads, and launching personalized outreach sequences that reference the exact Reddit conversation where you found them.

Who it's for

B2B sales teams, growth marketers, and agencies who want to turn Reddit conversations into a repeatable lead pipeline.

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Choose your subreddits — Go to Scans → New Scan. For B2B SaaS, target subreddits like r/SaaS, r/startups, r/smallbusiness, r/Entrepreneur, and niche subreddits for your industry. Select Reddit as your only source to focus results.
  2. Craft competitor queries — Use queries like "[Competitor] alternative", "switching from [Competitor]", or "[Competitor] too expensive". These find people who are already dissatisfied and looking for options.
  3. Scan and sort — Run the scan and sort results by Foxtrail Potential. Posts with 10+ replies are gold mines — one post about "best CRM alternatives" with 25 replies gives you 25 qualified leads.
  4. Run Foxtrail — Click Foxtrail on the highest-scoring posts. MentionFox crawls every reply and extracts each commenter with their username, comment text, and profile link.
  5. Identify real people — Review Foxtrail results. Focus on commenters who share detailed opinions, mention specific tools, or describe their use case. These people have buying authority and active needs.
  6. Enrich top leads — Click Enrich on 5-10 of the most promising profiles. MentionFox finds their real name, work email, company, title, LinkedIn, and phone from their Reddit username.
  7. Send to Dealflow — Click Send to Dealflow for enriched leads. Name the batch by source (e.g. "Reddit-Hootsuite-alternatives-March") so you can track conversion by campaign.
  8. Launch sequence — In Dealflow, assign a sequence that references the Reddit thread: "I saw your comment in the thread about Hootsuite alternatives — sounds like you're looking for something with better pricing and more platforms."
