Sharing Clips | MentionFox Help

Once your video clip is generated, MentionFox gives you several ways to get it in front of the right audience.

Download

Click the download button on any clip in your library. Videos are exported as MP4 files at the resolution matching your selected aspect ratio. File sizes are typically 2-8 MB for a 15-30 second clip, making them easy to upload anywhere.

Share Link

Every clip gets a unique shareable URL hosted on MentionFox's CDN. Click "Copy Link" to grab it. The link opens a clean, branded player page with no MentionFox branding (unless you chose to include it). Share the link in emails, Slack messages, or anywhere you need a quick preview without sending a file attachment.

Post to Social Media

For connected social accounts, you can post clips directly from MentionFox:

Send in Email Sequences

Include a clip link in your Dealflow outreach sequences. Video thumbnails in emails dramatically increase click-through rates. MentionFox generates a thumbnail image from your clip that you can insert into email templates. When the recipient clicks the thumbnail, they are taken to the hosted player page.

Tip: A/B test emails with and without video clips. In our experience, emails that include a social proof video clip see 30-50% higher reply rates than text-only emails.

Agency White-Label Sharing

Agency tier users can generate clips branded with their client's logo and colors, then share directly with the client or include them in client reports. The shared link and player page show the client's branding, not MentionFox's -- perfect for impressing clients with polished deliverables.

Sharing options

Every clip has three sharing methods available from the clip detail page:

  1. Direct link — Copy a shareable URL that anyone can view in their browser. No login required. The link shows your clip with your branding, captions, and a "Powered by MentionFox" footer. Great for Slack messages, emails, and social media posts.
  1. Embed code — Copy an HTML embed snippet to place the clip on any website or blog. The embed is responsive and adjusts to the container width. Use this for case study pages, client reports, and landing pages.
  1. Download — Download the clip as an MP4 file. Use this when you need the raw video for presentations, social media schedulers (Buffer, Hootsuite, Later), or offline viewing.

Sharing to social media

For the best results on each platform, keep these guidelines in mind. Twitter/X supports up to 2:20 of video — keep clips under 60 seconds for maximum engagement. LinkedIn prefers square (1:1) or vertical (9:16) formats. Instagram Reels require vertical format. Facebook supports all formats but square performs best in feeds.

Privacy and access

Shared links are public by default — anyone with the URL can view the clip. If you need private sharing, use the download option and send the file directly. There is no password protection on shared clips.

Tracking views

Each shared clip tracks view count automatically. Check the clip detail page to see how many times your clip has been viewed via the shared link or embed.
