Managing Your Subscription

All subscription management happens in Settings > Billing. Here's how to handle upgrades, downgrades, payment changes, and cancellations.

Upgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Click Change Plan next to your current plan name.
  3. Select the plan you want to upgrade to (Agency or Enterprise).
  4. Confirm the change. The price difference is prorated for the remainder of your current billing cycle.

When you upgrade, new limits (clients, seats, credits, dossiers) take effect immediately. There is no waiting period.

Downgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to Settings > Billing and click Change Plan.
  2. Select a lower-tier plan.
  3. Confirm. The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle so you keep access to premium features until then.

If you have more monitored clients or team seats than the lower plan allows, you will be prompted to archive clients or remove seats before the downgrade processes.

Updating Payment Methods

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing > Payment Method.
  2. Click Update Card to enter a new credit or debit card.
  3. The new card is charged on your next billing date. You can also retry a failed payment immediately after updating.

MentionFox accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and most international debit cards. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Viewing Invoices

Every invoice is available in Settings > Billing > Invoice History. You can download PDF invoices for accounting or click the Stripe link to view the full receipt. Invoices include your plan name, credit usage, any top-up purchases, and applicable taxes.

Cancelling Your Subscription

  1. Go to Settings > Billing and click Cancel Plan.
  2. Select a reason (optional but appreciated).
  3. Confirm cancellation. Your account remains active until the end of the current billing period.

After cancellation, your data is retained for 90 days. You can reactivate at any time during this window and pick up where you left off. After 90 days, data is permanently deleted.

If your payment fails, MentionFox retries 3 times over 7 days. Scans pause after the third failure. Update your card in Settings > Billing to resume immediately.

Switching Between Monthly and Annual

You can switch to annual billing at any time to save 20%. Go to Settings > Billing > Change Plan and toggle the billing frequency. A prorated credit for your remaining monthly period is applied to the annual invoice.
